healing shattered lives

Hey friends, it's Pastor Daniel Petruska, and I'm sitting down to write this with a mix of emotions - concern, hope, and a hint of desperation. Sadly, it's no secret that our country is in the grip of a devastating drug epidemic. Every day, we're seeing more and more lives ravaged by addiction, more families torn apart, and more communities struggling to cope. As the leader of 180 Ministries, I've seen firsthand the impact this crisis is having on our organization. We're doing everything we can to provide hope and healing to men and women affected, but the harsh reality is that we're facing some tough financial times. Our residential program is full, and our outpatient services are in high demand, but with that increased demand comes a big increase in costs.

That's why I'm reaching out to you, our friends and supporters, to ask for your help. We need your financial support to keep our doors open, to keep providing the vital services that are changing lives every day. Please pray for us, pray for our staff, our residents, and for the men and women who are still trapped in addiction. Pray that we'll have the resources we need to keep doing this life-changing work. And if you're able, please consider making a donation to support our ministry. Every gift, no matter how big or small, will bring us closer to being able to provide the hope and healing that so many desperately need. Thank you for being part of the 180 Ministries family - together, we can make a difference in this fight against addiction.

- Pastor Daniel Petruska

Jacob's journey is a powerful testament to the human spirit's capacity for transformation and redemption. When he arrived at the Men's Center in February 2023, he was at a low point in his life. Broken, desperate, and searching for a fresh start, Jacob was willing to do whatever it took to turn his life around. Despite the numerous challenges he faced, he remained open to change and hopeful for a better future.

One of the driving forces behind Jacob's determination was his desire to reconnect with his children and become a better father. He knew that he had let them down in the past, and he was determined to make things right. With the support of the Men's Center, Jacob began to work through his issues in group counseling sessions. These sessions provided a safe and supportive environment where Jacob could confront his demons, learn from his mistakes, and develop the skills he needed to become a better person.

Faith also played a significant role in Jacob's transformation. As he deepened his spiritual practice, Jacob began to experience a sense of peace, forgiveness, and purpose that he had never known before. His faith gave him the strength and courage he needed to face his challenges head-on and make amends with his past.

The results of Jacob's hard work and determination were nothing short of remarkable. He was able to rebuild relationships with his children, and they began to heal and grow together. Jacob also found employment, which gave him a sense of purpose and responsibility. Through his journey, Jacob learned valuable lessons about perseverance, forgiveness, and the importance of community. He discovered that with the right support and a willingness to change, anyone can overcome even the most daunting obstacles.

Jacob's story is a beacon of hope for anyone struggling with addiction, family issues, or feelings of desperation. It shows that no matter how dark things may seem, there is always a way forward, always a chance for redemption and transformation.

HELPPPP! We Need Students!

Our most immediate need is for everybody to spread the word about the 180 Ministries Men’s Center. We want to be able to help as many men as we possibly can by showing the love of Christ. We are also looking to replenish our scholarship fund. The current cost of our program is $2200 per month, and this money allows us to help men struggling in addiction that don’t have the financial ability to cover the cost for their recovery. We never want money to become the thing that gets in the way of a man’s healing. Would you consider partnering with us through donations of any amount?

Vibrant Life has continued to be another pillar of support for the students coming through the 180 Men’s Center in Denver. The greatest testimony that we have is that students continue to work with our counselors after they graduate. Whether it is for their own personal growth, family counseling as they transition back into family life, or just a few sessions to help them navigate life after the program, students are finding the value in having this support available to them in their continued journey in recovery. We are seeing students deal with their trauma quicker, find healing sooner, and develop coping skills to help them deal with the many stresses that life can bring. They see the value they have gotten from counseling, and they continue to use it as a tool to help them achieve their goal of long term continued sobriety.

IMMEDIATE NEEDS:

Our needs at Vibrant Life are similar to the needs for the Men’s Center. We need everybody to spread the word about 180 and Vibrant Life so that we are able to help set free as many people as possible. We are also trying to open up Counseling Centers at our Women’s/Women with Children Center’s in Olathe and Tooele. To do this, we need people to join with us to help cover the startup costs of those ventures. When we all join together in this, the impact that we can have will touch not only those struggling in addiction, but their families, and their children’s lives as well. Alone the task can feel daunting, but together we can make a significant impact in the place that the enemy has been trying to do the most damage: The family unit – Fathers, Sons, Mothers, and daughters.

Latest News From Utah Women's Program

We are incredibly inspired by what God has done in the lives of our ladies since opening as an adult women’s center 2 years ago. We held a graduation ceremony for students that have completed and their testimonies of life restored are amazing!

Our graduates are all sober, gainfully employed and reunited with their children as healthy, whole, sober moms!!! Many of them have chosen to do our second-year program as we continue to walk alongside them as they are getting adjusted and on their feet to walk in their purpose for which they have been created, giving back and helping women that are coming up behind them and holding hope for the hopeless that God will do the same for them too.

IMMEDIATE NEEDS:

180 Ministries for Women is in urgent need of support to maintain their greenhouse and property. A new pump for their well, crucial for watering the grounds, requires a $9,000 investment. Additionally, a large shed is needed to house equipment for their pumpkin patch and planting operations, with an estimated cost of $10,000. Generous donors are being sought to help bridge this $19,000 funding gap and ensure the ministry's continued growth and success.

Growing in Our Greenhouse!

This year we were able to get our greenhouse open and operational. We planted over 10,000 seeds and have been able to have plant sales every week. The ladies have learned a healthy hobby through gardening and job skills in running plant sales each weekend.

Our pumpkin patch and fall festival was a huge success last year! The community had a resounding response to these events. Thank you to all the contributed and were sponsors of this event. Through your generosity we successfully raised $50,000 which enabled us to say YES to women that are in need of our help without finances being the barrier to receiving our help.

The pumpkin patch has been planted with twice the amount of pumpkins as last year and our goal is $75,000 this year!!

Latest News From 180 Ministries Olathe, Colorado

Spring has brought with it new life to 180 Ministries. We have been blessed with women hungry for a deeper relationship with Jesus. Shasta came into the program alone and questioning a God who would allow the abuse, death, and the destruction that she had experienced life to be. Married nine years, with three children, she had fallen into addiction and lost everything. Her husband was in jail, her oldest son had been adopted and she was about to lose her two youngest boys for adoption. Shasta was broken. It took a desperate leap of faith to get her through our front doors. It has been eight months. Shasta began a walk with her Redeemer. She chose to give her heart and life to Him and He brought her youngest sons home to her and began a tender healing journey in the whole family. Her husband who is now serving time at a halfway house is seeing the transformation in his wife and is hungry for the new life and hope he sees in her.

Please pray that more women, desperate for change would walk through our doors and surrender to the care of their loving Heavenly Father.

IMMEDIATE NEEDS:

Work on our building’s heating system has added greatly to our annual cost of living. Women like Shasta do not have financial support. We depend on the provision, love and faithfulness of our gracious God and His Spirit to move hearts toward us. I thank each of you for standing with this house of promise.
